How to stay in a growth mindset
I've got another question from Robbin. Robbin asked, "How can I stay in a growth mindset instead of being in a fixed mindset." Robbin I feel like this is a question - sort of the kind of messages you give yourself day in and day out. And the way I focused on growth was to come up with a specific goal. And, I'm not saying this would be your goal, but let's say that my goal was to double sales and every day at the beginning of the day I'd say, "What can I do today to double sales?"
Every day at the beginning of the day, I'd say, "What can I do today to double sales?"
Well, if you asked yourself that question every single day, you're either going to double sales or you're gonna not double sales. You're just going to give up at some point, but if it's a reasonable goal, then asking yourself that question at the beginning of the day would would really help you to make your way toward that goal.
So, find something that sounds really good to you that has to do with the growth in your business. Let's say it's producing a new painting or let's say it's finding a new customer. Make that a goal that you can put in your mind. Ask yourself at the beginning of the day, what can I do today to find a new customer? What one thing can I do today that will allow me to bump into somebody new or to show my work to somebody new? If you need more inventory, more product, you can say to yourself, what thing can I do today to create more art or to, or to work on my paintings? So those are two things that, you can express as goals, finding more customers or making more art. And if you ask yourself that question or get into your mind at the beginning of the day, I believe it will carry you through a good portion of the day and you'll find that you'll be doing things to help you grow the business. Again, this is a subject that I could talk a long time about and if we talk one on one, I think I could give you some more helpful ideas. Hopefully we would have a chance to do that.
